From broken video workflows to $1M+ in ARR: a 2-week transformation

When enterprise client renewals were on the line, I stepped in mid-project to turn an unfinished video feature into a streamlined, intuitive experience. The redesign helped reduce approval bottlenecks by 73% and contributed to over $1M in enterprise revenue.

🧩 Problem

Globaledit’s video review experience was incomplete and disjointed, blocking creative workflows and undermining client trust. Internal teams made future-looking promises to cover gaps, slowing adoption and threatening renewals.

💡 Solution

In just 2 weeks, I led a redesign that transformed the experience: from fragmented and frustrating to fast, familiar, and feedback-friendly. I worked with PMs and engineers to deliver a player experience that creative teams wanted to use.

📈 Outcome

Helped secure key enterprise deals totaling over $1M in ARR. Reduced video approval time by 73%, speeding up creative workflows by 3+ days. Enabled confident sales demos and accelerated adoption across client teams.

The challenge

The challenge

High urgency, limited runway

High urgency, limited runway

I joined the project mid-flight after the previous designer left. What existed was a loosely defined single-player layout with a timeline, basic playback controls, and thumbnail icons, but the controls were out of order and core review functionality was missing.

Our challenge was to rapidly:

• Align on key workflows and use cases

• Make strategic design decisions under tight technical constraints

• Deliver a usable, client-ready experience—fast

With no direct access to end-users, I interviewed sales and account managers, team members closest to user pain points. I also analyzed 47 Zendesk tickets to surface patterns.

Key insights

• Users expected familiar, industry-standard controls to reduce friction

• Feedback workflows were a major pain point: timestamped comments and video comparison were missing

• A smoother review and approval experience would increase client confidence and reduce delays in final asset delivery

Designing the core experience

Designing the core experience

I collaborated closely with engineers to scope features based on technical feasibility, while keeping the UX cohesive end to end. Our tight feedback loop let us turn rough ideas into polished, production-ready interactions in just days, without compromising quality.

Streamlining playback

I replaced custom icons and unordered controls with a familiar, consistent playback layout. This minimized errors and reduced onboarding time

Side-by-side comparison

Designed a lockable dual-player view to enable seamless before-and-after review of edits, key for enterprise post-production teams.

Focused feedback

Introduced timestamped markups and threaded comments to keep collaboration contextual and reduce back-and-forth.

Evolution of the video player

Before

The video player had out-of-order controls, a cluttered layout, and no way to compare footage or leave feedback. Users struggled with even basic playback.

After

The redesigned experience introduced a familiar, intuitive control layout, side-by-side playback, and timestamped comments, transforming review into a fast, seamless, and confidence-boosting workflow.
